800 F STREET, N.W.
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

The buildings in the 800 block of F Street represent a group of five late-nineteenth century commercial structures. Constructed over a 25-year period, the buildings are fine examples of Victorian commercial architecture and characterize development in downtown Washington at the end of the nineteenth century.

EHT Traceries provided historic preservation consultation and research and documentation to assist the owner, Douglas Development, with the rehabilitation and development of the block. The firm also worked on issues of preservation and design (including lighting and streetscape issues) with regard to the formal reviews and submittals by the relevant agencies such as the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Division, the PADC/National Capital Planning Commission, and the National Park Service as required by the project guidelines and the Memorandum of Agreement.
