EHT Traceries, Inc., is a certified woman-owned small business specializing in history and historic preservation. Since 1989, our award-winning firm has provided its clients with a wide range of professional services, including Preservation Planning, Technical Preservation Services, Historic Tax Credit Certification, Survey and Documentation, Environmental Sustainability and Resilience Planning, and Regulatory Compliance. EHT Traceries has a staff of preservation planners, preservation specialists, architectural historians, and historians, all of who meet the Secretary of the Interior professional standards (36 CFR 61).

The firm has received national recognition for our successful preservation and consultation strategies for both public and private projects. Our staff is adept at the interpretation of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and their application in a variety of contexts. From individual building rehabilitations to large-scale master plans, we are an integral member of a project team and contribute a sound understanding of the issues of historic significance, compliance. Our experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams helps ensure that historic preservation is a successful component of all our project. We also have extensive experience working closely with government agencies, State Historic Preservation Offices, and other stakeholders to guide projects through stringent reviews at the local, state, and federal levels.

A recognized authority in the documentation and evaluation of historic and cultural resources, our staff has worked throughout the United States and abroad applying and adapting national standards to a wide range of historical periods and resource types. Numerous local and federal government agencies have employed our expertise to address their more challenging historic properties, from nineteenth-century landscapes to Mid-Century Modern office buildings. Our staff is fluent in the national criteria used for evaluation of historic significance and integrity and members have authored determinations of eligibility and nominations for the National Register of Historic Places that cover thousands of resources.
